Meet the Team
Grace Fong
Grace serendipitously came about occupational therapy when she was going back to school to be a dental hygienist. The more she learned about how diverse a career in occupational therapy could look like and how she could work closely with individuals to help them navigate their recovery journey and achieve their life goals the more she knew occupational therapy was for her. Grace has over 10 years of experience working in the private sector providing community based occupational therapy. She has extensive experience working with individuals in varying stages of their rehabilitation and with a range of diagnoses. Grace values continuing education and has attended a breadth of course work dedicated to functional testing, cost of future care, disability management, home modifications, seating and mobility, cognitive rehabilitation, exposure therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy. She is a certified Assessment of Motor and Process Skills Assessor and Certified Disability Management Professional. When Grace is not working, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends.
Grace is fluent in English and Cantonese.
Rhiannon Evans
When Rhiannon was introduced to occupational therapy as a student athlete at UBC it was like a lightbulb went off in her head, she could be a part of a helping profession where her role is not just working with the body or the mind but a whole human! She feels fortunate to have found this unique role in healthcare and since 2017 has worked in community based private practice with a diverse group of individuals providing one on one support. She has taken professional development training on topics such as wheelchair seating, workplace ergonomics, concussion management, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing and more. But the most important lessons come from what her clients teach her everyday. Outside of work her passions are running, quality times with friends, nature, chocolate and giving her dog Juniper belly rubs.
